What better way to spend your summer days than making friends, learning about how to care for animals, and having LOTS of fun?
At Camp Good Dog For Kids children learn, by working with dogs from the Animal Shelter, how to train and care for dogs, ways to make the community a safer place for pets, and how to be a responsible pet owner. Not only will Campers learn a lot and have fun, the Animal Shelter dogs will love the attention and TLC.
The Humane Society is looking for mature 8 to 14-year-old campers who want to build on their love for animals by learning how to provide a lifetime of love and care for companion animals. The Camp promotes kindness and compassion for all creatures. Camp is June 4 to 15, 2012, and is held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Graduation will be June 16. Cost for camp is $200. Registrations are first-come, first-serve and space is limited to twelve campers. Only kids who can attend all sessions of the two week Camp will be registered. The Consent and Liability form should be completed and submitted at the time of registration.
For a second year, Capsugel is sponsoring a scholarship contest for one child to attend Camp at no charge. Interested children should explain in four paragraphs or less why he or she would like to win the scholarship and submit their essay by May 4, 2012. Entries may be handwritten or typed, must include the child’s name, age, phone number, address, and emailed to humane@gwdhumanesociety.org or mailed to:
