Pets of the Week – April 22, 2013 (Buddy and Tarzan)

Buddy
Buddy

The most eloquent testimony to his gentleness comes from Buddy’s own boyish mouth; it’s in the delicate way he takes a treat from your fingers — more a soft caress than a nibble, consciously considerate beyond his year-and-a-half youthfulness, all his exuberance carefully contained until he “sits” or “lies down” for you successfully. Buddy was found stray, a handsome Hound-mix with a noble face who somewhere learned to keep his run nice and clean (why go in your pen when you can wait and go outside?) and walk proudly on a leash, too. He adores toys of all kinds — ball, rope, squeaky, who cares — as long as he can gallop back to you for a kiss and a snuggle, and return every affection in good measure. Buddy’s destined to be your consummate inside-outside family dog, a stout-hearted friend who loves to learn and gets along waggingly with everyone; utter devotion is the only kind he knows. Come see how reverently a big nice boy can push the limits of perfection, and how happy you’ll be when Buddy comes bounding into your welcoming arms.

Tarzan
Tarzan

A cat gifted with boundless energy, grace, and ape-like skills, young Tarzan could not be more aptly named. He bounces and trounces grabbing at imaginary airborne objects just like the fictional Tarzan grabbed at vines to swing from tree to tree. This 5-month-old Classic Brown Tabby is a stunner to see sporting unique body markings that have a whirled and swirled pattern with wider stripes that make what are referred to as “butterfly” patterns on their shoulders, and usually a bullseye or oyster pattern on the flank. Tarzan is not one to be easily overlooked …. and it’s for certain he won’t be overlooking you.
