600 Miles to Home

This documentary was filmed in mid-July 2013. Volunteers from Operation Paws For Homes (OPH), one of HSOGs rescue partners, drove 600 miles from Maryland and Washington D.C. to document how and why OPH travels to animal shelters in rural Southern areas to pick up dogs, transport them back to Northern states to adopt them out.

Volunteer Orientation Saturday, November 2, 9a

November’s Volunteer Orientation is on Saturday, 11/2, from 9:00a to 9:50a, with a “Dog Walking 101″ class following from 10a to 11a for those who want to work specifically with dogs. The classes will take place at the Greenwood Animal Shelter Adoption Center located at 235 Wilbanks Circle. To speed up the process, download and complete the Volunteer Application before the orientation.

Microchip Clinic on October 26th

The Humane Society of Greenwood (HSOG) will hold a microchip clinic on Saturday, October 26th, 2012. The event will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the Humane Society Spay/Neuter Clinic facility, which is located at 241 Wilbanks Circle in Greenwood (behind the Greenwood County Animal Shelter). The microchip implant and registration are available for $15.00.
