June is Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month
The Humane Society of Greenwood is celebrating the American Humane Association’s National Adopt-A-Cat Month during June. It’s an ideal time to adopt a feline, since the spring and summer months typically bring a surge of kittens and cats to the nation’s shelters. The Humane Society of Greenwood encourages people to enrich their lives by adopting a cat.
Cricket Hollow Stables’ “Animals Helping Animals” Benefit Horse Show
Join us on May 26 from 10a to 1p at Cricket Hollow Stables, located at 138 Durham Road in Abbeville, to watch the Cricket Hollow students show off their skills! The Horse Show is a benefit for the Humane Society of Greenwood. There will be BBQ and a raffle! Homeward Bound Pet Adoptathon – May 4 & 5
We are excited to announce a pet adoption event to coincide with the Pet Adoptathons being held nationwide the first weekend of May. Our event will be held on May 4 and 5, at the Greenwood Adoption Center located at 235 Wilbanks Circle in Greenwood, SC. The regular $85 adoption fee for dogs and $50 for cats will be waived in a special called “Homeward Bound” and all adoptions will be FREE.
Cover Girl, 2011 Poster Dog For Cruelty Prevention Month

April is “Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month.”
The ASPCA, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, began this important month for animals six years ago and it is now a nationwide celebration of the human-animal bond and of victories on behalf of animals.
The Humane Society of Greenwood wants all to realize that animal abuse and neglect occurs in their own community.
