Come to The Mill House, located at 237 Maxwell Avenue in Greenwood, and enjoy dog-themed beers, like Ellie’s Brown Ale, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the HSOG! This year’s Chili’s Annual Sizzlin’ Showdown Golf Tournament is Wednesday, June 4. Hole sponsorships are available for $50 each and your donation is tax-deductible. We had over 70 sponsors for last year’s tournament and each had fun with creating their own mini-billboard to honor, memorialize, thank or just promote. Using a different approach for creating awareness that April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month, we asked pet owners to send us photographs illustrating how they are kind to their pets and how they benefit their lives. We featured several on our Facebook page and one was especially selected to be published in our local Index-Journal newspaper!

Volunteer help is vital for helping save animals’ lives. Volunteers are needed to perform a variety of services, including kennel enrichment, socialization and dog walking, assist at community adoption events, fund raising, administrative tasks, helping with animal transport, bathing and grooming, providing basic training to dogs, general or spot cleaning kennels or sharing other skills.
