Chili’s Sizzlin’ Showdown Golf Tournament Raises $4,400!

Thank you to Lowrie Wilson, of Chili’s Grill & Bar in Greenwood, and to the sponsors and participants who helped to raise $4,400 at this year’s Sizzlin’ Showdown Golf Tournament. Every year has been hugely successful and this year was no different. The weather was beautiful and the maximum number of golfers showed up to participate.

Cricket Hollow Stables’ “Animals Helping Animals” Benefit Horse Show

Join us on May 26 from 10a to 1p at Cricket Hollow Stables, located at 138 Durham Road in Abbeville, to watch the Cricket Hollow students show off their skills! Homeward Bound Event Results

The May 4 and 5 adoption event drew over 100 visitors and resulted in the adoption of thirty-nine cats and dogs. The regular $85 adoption fee for dogs and $50 for cats was waived hoping the added incentive would encourage individuals to adopt a pet. All pets were spayed or neutered, vaccinated, heartworm or feline leukemia tested,

Homeward Bound Pet Adoptathon – May 4 & 5

We are excited to announce a pet adoption event to coincide with the Pet Adoptathons being held nationwide the first weekend of May. Our event will be held on May 4 and 5, at the Greenwood Adoption Center located at 235 Wilbanks Circle in Greenwood, SC. The regular $85 adoption fee for dogs and $50 for cats will be waived in a special called “Homeward Bound” and all adoptions will be FREE.

Food Lion Goes to the Animals: Supply Drive and Adoptable Dogs

The Humane Society of Greenwood will be at the Food Lion at 1605 Bypass 72 NE, Greenwood, SC on Saturday, April 28, from 12:00p to 4:00p to collect donations of needed supplies and to showcase some dogs available for adoption.

Both Food Lion locations in Greenwood have been collecting food and supplies on behalf of the non-profit agency during the month of April.

Bruster’s Night For The Dogs

The Humane Society of Greenwood invites you to attend “Bring Your Dog to Bruster’s.” The Spirit Night event will be held at Bruster’s Ice Cream, located at 1204 Mathis Road in Greenwood, on Tuesday, April 24, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. All dogs will receive FREE doggie sundaes and 12% of all proceeds will go to the Humane Society of Greenwood.

Camp Good For Kids and Capsugel Scholarship – “Enjoy a Summer of Love”

What better way to spend your summer days than making friends, learning about how to care for animals, and having LOTS of fun?

At Camp Good Dog For Kids children learn, by working with dogs from the Animal Shelter, how to train and care for dogs, ways to make the community a safer place for pets,

Food Lion Food and Supply Drive

Both Food Lion stores in Greenwood (SC) are having a food and supply drive for the Humane Society of Greenwood for the month of April. Look for the picture board display at each store for a wish list of items that we need for the animals. Imagine if everyone bought just one item on the list!

Chili’s Golf Tournament 2012

This year’s Chili’s Annual Sizzlin’ Showdown Golf Tournament is Wednesday, May 16. We are selling hole sponsorships again this year for a $50 tax-deductible donation.
