Ten pounds of compact pizazz make up this fun loving canine companion. Trixie is a black and brown little lady with a zest for life that can’t be simmered down. She’s a zippy Miniature Pinscher mix with big goals in mind: to perk up someone’s life and put smiles on plenty of faces.

The Humane Society of Greenwood will be at Petsmart in Greenwood, SC, Saturday from 11a to 3p with adoptable dogs from the Greenwood County Animal Shelter.
Pets of the Week – October 6, 2014 (Ini Mini and Weebo)
Ini Mini
Somewhere between “itsy bitsy” and “teeny weeny,” exists a special ebony kitten named “Ini Mini.” At 4-months-old, Ini Mini may be a petite kitten now, but her larger-than-life joyful personality can fill a room. Ini Mini is everyone’s new best friend, playing politely with kittens, cats, dogs, children, and even a few lucky grown-ups too.
October is Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Month
The Humane Society of Greenwood is celebrating October’s National Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month at the Greenwood County Animal Shelter. During the month of October, dog adoption fees are reduced to $65. (Senior and “special needs” dogs are $50.) All dogs are vetted: spayed/neutered, vaccinated, HTWM tested, dewormed, and microchipped.

Join us at the Grace Street Dog Park on Merrywood Drive in Greenwood for a park dedication and blessing of the pets. This event is sponsored by local churches and community organizations. Local church leaders will be on hand for the Dedication of the Dog Park and Blessing of the Animals in honor of St.
Volunteer Orientation, (Saturday) 10/11, 10a – 11a
Volunteer help is vital for helping save animals’ lives. Volunteers are needed to perform a variety of services, including kennel enrichment, socialization and dog walking, assist at community adoption events, fund raising, administrative tasks, helping with animal transport, bathing and grooming, providing basic training to dogs, general or spot cleaning kennels or sharing other skills.
