February is Spay/Neuter Awareness Month

February is nationally recognized as “Spay/Neuter Awareness Month.” The purpose is to encourage people to have their pets sterilized before the spring and summer months when there is a rampant overproduction of puppies and kittens. During that time most animal shelters experience an unmanageable increase in animal intake. Spay/neutering helps to decrease those numbers and saves pets’ lives.

February Volunteer Orientation, Sat. Feb. 1, 9:30a

Orientation beings promptly at 9:30a. The classes are at the Greenwood Animal Shelter Adoption Center located at 235 Wilbanks Circle. Our volunteers are vital to our operation each and every day. They help with everything from walking dogs, to socializing cats and kittens, to doing laundry, to helping at special events. There is never a shortage of help needed and never a job too big or small.
