Mayor Welborn Adams (2nd from right) joined Grand Harbor residents Bob Strazzella, Myles and Georgette Covert, Mary Ellen Neumann and more than a hundred other club members to “rock the rescues” at the second annual Animal House Toga Party benefiting the Humane Society of Greenwood. More than $11,000 was raised in support of the agency’s efforts on behalf of the area’s homeless animals.

The Humane Society of Greenwood was selected by the GMFCU Board of Directors to receive a donation of $2,500! The monies were collected during October through December last year through their “Skip A Payment” program. The commander of a sea vessel, he is not. But Skipper is the kind of dog that will have you skipping along and playing with him. This Jack Russell Terrier and Chihuahua mix is a joy of a dog. His love is indiscriminate. Adults, kids of all ages, and other dogs are a-okay by him and he welcomes anyone who wants to enjoy a romp in the yard or a leisurely walk.

Lets GO GO GO! Two-year-old Dottie is always as busy as a bee — a Blue Heeler and Siberian Husky bee, that is. Have a task that needs handled? Give it to Dottie. Her skinny jeans haven’t fit in a while, but this 6-years-young Calico Queen’s so abundantly pleasant it’s doesn’t matter anyway; after all, jeans aren’t made to fit your heart, and if they were they wouldn’t fit hers. Mrs. Butterworth was found in Ware Shoals with her sister and brother; all 3 are spayed/neutered, clearly loving pets who stuck closely together when they found themselves homeless.
